The following Bible verses are limited to the King James Version of the English Bible, and thus, suffer some limitations, as do all translations. The original King James 1611 English translation rendered the Saviour's name, Iesu(s) Christ. Iesu was common in Old English and Early Modern English, and is a direct transliteration from the Biblical Languages. Iesu is pronounced yay-soo, and should be rendered in modern English by Yesu, not Jesus. Click here to see where the name Jesus came from, and when it was introduced.
"Search the Scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life; and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life." John 5: 39-40
The Inspired Hebrew Scriptures (the Torah: Law) have the name of Yesu written within; and not one jot (Hebrew, yod; Greek, iota) has ceased to exist (re, Mathew 5: 18). The letter Yod is the first letter in the name of Yesu and of Yahweh.
