THE SOURCE:

WE ARE ONE WITH THE OMNIPRESENT GOD OF THE UNIVERSE

C. 2007, by Norbert H. Kox

The biblical teaching that we are one with God, that we are in God and that God is in us, is comprised in more than a single verse, and is the understanding that is conveyed through the holy spirit as we study and examine Scripture as a whole.  Most religions believe we are in God and God is in us, i.e. we are one with God.  This is also a tenant of most Christian denominations, at least to some degree.  Do you believe the universal teaching that God is omnipresent?  The word omnipresent means "everywhere at once." God is everywhere and in everything. If he were not in everything he could not be omnipresent.

I will present you with some Scripture verses from the Bible that I hope will help in your search. You might also want to do a Google search for the term "we are one with God", or simply "one with God". Also try "God is in us", or similar terms. Be sure to include the quotation marks, they will narrow the search.  This will lead you to the writings of mystics and theologians who have written on the subject. The Internet is full of both good and bad information. Search prayerfully that the Holy Spirit guides you.

Quantum physics is just now learning what the Bible has always told us, all things are made of light, electromagnetic waves (we are children of the Light). It all comes from one source they call the Universe. Summed up, the Source is God. John 1:1-9 tells us the same; Yesu is God and is the light and life of everyone that comes into the world. He made everything out of his light (waves), his essence; it is all God. Everything that exists is of the essence of God (the Source) but not necessarily submitted directly to the service of God. The "Godless" ones do not, and cannot, exist outside of God, they have just been cut off in their minds from access to the knowledge and presence of God. If the essence of God ceased to be in them they would immediately vanish from existence.

Genesis 1:26-27; & 5:1, says we are "the image of God." Colossians 1:15, says, Yesu is "the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature." Thus, we are of his genus, and like him we also are the image of the invisible God. The difference is he never sinned. The only time the connection was broken for him was when he carried our sins/mistakes on the cross and felt God-forsaken. Sin causes the feeling of separation.

God has, "in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high" (Hebrews 1:2-3).

Yesu is the temple of God, and the rebuilt (resurrected) temple (John 2:19-22).
You are the temple of God ((1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19; 2 Corinthians 6:16).
We are joined to Yahweh in one spirit (1 Corinthians 6:17).
"he be not far from every one of us: For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring." (Acts 17:27-28).
"I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you." (John 14:20).
We have the mind of Christ, and thus, the mind of God, equal to God. "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Yesu: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God" (Philippians 2:5-6). "we have the mind of Christ." (1 Corinthians 2:16).
"There is one body, and one Spirit" (Ephesians 4:4).
"For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones." (Ephesians 5:30).

"God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him." (1 John 4:16).

Psalm 139:7-18, tells us God is omnipresent and that wherever we go we are never away from his presence.
Jeremiah 23:23-24, also witnesses omnipresence.
